There is a detailed statement of warranty policy written in the Nirvana Owner's Manual. The warranty period is 90 days from purchase. What is covered - Your warranty covers any failure, of any part of your boat, including electronics, which is caused by defect in workmanship or materials for a period of 90 days after owner possession. What is not covered - Damage caused by misuse, abuse, improper care, accident, modification, or repair by anyone other than manufacturer's providing the warranty. Natural breakdown of materials over extended use and time is not covered. Shipping costs are not covered. Warranty Station - SailRC.com no longer offers warranty service for the Nirvana. However . . . . NO ONE knows this boat and its warranty issues better than us. We are willing to support our owners with troubleshooting assistance via our Tips and Tricks section on this website, AND via email directly to Steve@SailRC.com. SailRC has been involved with this boat through its evolution and we are here to support you if you have a problem - even though you will eventually need to deal with Megatech for repair or replacement. Note Upgrade Parts in section below. Hitec Electronics - If you have issues with Hitec electronics, we have extensive troubleshooting information available that will quickly lead you to the problem, and often the fix. Electrics are hard to troubleshoot because the symptom often shows up in a piece of equipment that is NOT the problem. A Hitec service station in the US will handle any repair or replacement promptly, but sometimes we can lead you through a "quick" fix. The warranty period for Hitec equipment is ONE YEAR. Shipping Damage - The Nirvana warranty is not responsible for damage during shipping, however, all items shipped by SailRC.com are fully insured. If your boat, or accessories, is damaged in shipping, it is important to notify SailRC.com for claims processing. Since pictures of damaged boxes is often necessary to process claims for damaged items, please keep all packing and take lots of pictures. Nirvana Replacement Parts
Manufacturered Parts - Obtaining, stocking, pricing, and shipping manufactured parts for the Nirvana has been a frustrating experience for SailRC.com. This is not the fault necessarily of the manufacturer, but the reality of how the parts are molded in sets. Consequently, if you need to replace a part of the Nirvana proper, or Megatech electronics, please contact Megatech directly. They strive to keep a set of parts available. Upgrade parts/solutions - Steve at SailRC.com is responsible for crafting and updating the Nirvana class racing rule. Even if you don't race, you should keep your boat legal to take advantage of better resale when the time comes. The rule does allow for modifications, upgrades, and replacement with third party parts, in the areas that will not affect the boat's speed through the water. These modifications provide for durability and easier maintenance of the boat. Please review the class rule to see if it covers your situation, and then look in Tips and Tricks for authorized fixes. Warranty Verification - When dealing with Megatech about warranty issues, you must provide them with your Sales Receipt (proof of purchase and date). So keep your Sales Receipt handy during the warranty period. Registering your boat with SailRC, provides another form of verification, plus gets you official numbers for your new boat. If you have any questions about anything on this page, please email Steve@SailRC.com.
